When it comes to coupons, we’re always stoked about stacking. What’s stacking, you ask? It’s when you stack a manufacturer’s coupon on top of a store coupon for a double-dip discount.
Many retailers offer store coupons, including most grocery stores, Target, Walgreens, Rite Aid and CVS — just check their the weekly ad or inquire at customer service. However, the savings don’t stop there because you can also use a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item.
True coupon clippers are well-versed in the benefits of stacking, but also know that for maximum savings, you should stack coupons on top of a sale price when possible. With the combo of stacking and sale prices, you can often get items for free or pennies on the dollar.
Novices and experts alike can find a great source of manufacturer’s coupons right here on Living On The Cheap. At the start of the month, there are many new coupons. See the illustration below, for an example: (Note: The coupons are expired. We’re just using for illustrative purposes.)
Manufacturers Coupon = $1 off
Whole Foods Coupon = $1 off
Stack both coupons. Use at Whole Foods $1 + $1 = $2 off your purchase.
