National Donut Day 2022 is the best day for licking the sweet icing off a FREE donut — or “doughnut,” as some spell it — but did you know the day honors the heroes of World War I and not just fried pastries?
The day was named to remember the Salvation Army Lasses, who served doughnuts to soldiers on the front lines in WWI. To commemorate them and celebrate a classic treat, some of America’s favorite donut shops give away FREE donuts on National Donut Day.
2022 National Donut Day deals
National Donut Day is the first Friday in June, making it June 3 in 2022.
All of the FREE donut offers are valid at participating locations, while supplies last. Limit one per person. No purchase necessary, unless noted otherwise.
Duck Donuts: Customers will have something to quack about on National Donut Day at Duck Donuts. Everyone gets a FREE cinnamon donut — in-shop only. The donut shop has 106 locations 23 states in the U.S.
Dunkin’: Donut lovers can dunk a FREE Classic Donut at Dunkin’ with the purchase of any beverage on June 3. For locations nationwide state-by-state, click here.

Krispy Kreme: On National Donut Day, get a FREE donut of your choice at Krispy Kreme. In addition, on June 3, customers can enjoy a $1 Original Glazed dozen with the purchase of any dozen or 16-ct. minis.
Plus, true Krispy Kreme fans show their pride with a Krispy Kreme hat for 50% off on National Doughnut Day.
LaMar’s Donuts & Coffee: Enjoy a FREE Glazed Donut at LaMar’s on National Donut Day. Plus, on June 3, the donut shop is also giving away a FREE LaMar’s Donut Day t-shirt to a few lucky customers. In addition, 10 lucky customers at each location will have the chance to win FREE donuts each month for a year. Follow them on social media for more information.
The donut shop has locations in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.
Shipley Do-Nuts: Get up early to enjoy this giveaway on National Donut Day at Shipley Do-nuts. On June 3, enjoy a FREE Glazed Do-Nut with any purchase from 5 a.m. to noon. The shop has 330+ locations nationwide.
