On the first full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) of every month, you can visit more than 150 museums nationwide for free with your Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card. Each card admits one person with photo ID. The Museums on Us program includes museums in 31 states and the District of Columbia.
They include such prestigious institutions as the Art Institute of Chicago, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Miami, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia.
Not just for art lovers
Participating institutions include not just traditional museums but all kinds of cultural venues, such as the DoSeum, a children’s museum in San Antonio; the Florida Aquarium in Tampa (Sundays only); and the Staten Island zoo in New York.
A number of science museums and children’s museums are also on the list of museums that you can visit for free. Find participating museums here, and always call to verify hours and participation, especially on holiday weekends.
Present your Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card and a photo ID on the first weekend of every month for one free general admission.
LOTC tip: Most museums have a free day or a day where the admission price is reduced once a month. Before you plan your visit, call or visit the museum’s website to find out when you can visit the museum on the cheap.
