Now is the time to get e-books free! Stuff your Kindle Day is a glorious day ( or days) that happens a few times per year. Created in 2014 by author Zoe York, this allows self-published authors to make their books FREE for readers on specific dates throughout the year.
The upside? You get to read new books and find new favorite authors. The other upside? They’re FREE! The dates this year for 2024 are from July 20 – July 27, and titles will vary throughout the week. (we just found out about this – better late than never!)

How long will I get to keep the books?
Literally forever once you download them to your Kindle app. It’s that easy! Just make sure that you are checking the pricing – and that you are sure that they are FREE.
Are any of these books well-known?
Honestly, it’s up in the air. The books that are part of this day are books by independent authors who have submitted their books to be included.
This is a fun way to find a new author or read a book you might not have normally chosen. And who knows – you just might find a new favorite read!
Do I download the books through Kindle Unlimited?
No – make sure that the Kindle book is free of cost, and then “buy” the book, NOT through Kindle Unlimited. The reason for this is that when you actually buy it, you get to keep it forever.
If you use Kindle Unlimited, you are basically renting the book for only 20 days, and then it will be returned.
(don’t get me wrong – Kindle Unlimited is a great program as well where you can rent books and return them and get some really great deals!)
Are these the only free books of the day?
Not at all! Do yourself a favor and take time to discover other book freebies. These books are fun because you can download and start reading them immediately.
