Four astronauts are set to travel around the Moon and return on Artemis II, marking the first crewed mission of NASA’s Artemis program. NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, along with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen, will become the first people to fly aboard the Space Launch System rocket, the Orion spacecraft, and its supporting ground systems.
The mission will send the crew into deep space, advancing plans for future human landings on the Moon and laying the groundwork for eventual missions to Mars.
How it works:
The submitted names will be stored on an SD card and flown aboard the Orion spacecraft during the Artemis II mission, scheduled to launch in 2026.
