Kids in grades one through six can earn a free book when they participate in the 23rd annual Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program. Sign up at the program’s website here. Your child must read 8 books, complete and return a Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Journal between August 1 and August 31. The free book selection includes beloved characters such as Fancy Nancy, Judy Moody and Pete the Cat. Parents can visit any Barnes & Noble store and ask a bookseller for the Summer Reading Journal, or download it online at BN.com.
Barnes & Noble stores across the country plan to host summer events to encourage reading. Events include the monthly Barnes & Noble Book Club, the Young Adult Book Club, and Barnes & Noble Kids’ Book Hangout® is perfect for book discovery. Some stores are hosting Saturday Storytimes for kids and Baby & Me Storytimes on Sundays.
