Starbucks frappuccino

For the frugally minded and sweltering, nothing is better than a “cheap” cold drink on a hot summer afternoon. Luckily, Starbucks has brought back its highly popular “Treat Receipt” promo. Through Sunday, August 17, when you make a purchase in the morning and bring the receipt back the same day after 2 p.m., get any Grande cold beverage for just $2 - a savings of about 60% on most beverages. Remember, you do not have to redeem your receipt at the same location at which you made your morning purchase — any participating location will honor the receipt.

For the budget-conscious, there’s no minimum purchase requirement for the morning receipt, so consider buying a petite vanilla scone for 95 cents or banana for $1 to keep your costs down. If you’re buying a morning round of coffee for the office (or, at least, buying more than one menu item), pay for each item separately. Then, you’ll have more “treat receipts” to share with friends and family. Or, maybe, you can treat yourself to two bargain beverages — one in the early afternoon and one late at night.
