If you frequent Starbucks often, you’ll want to take note of their latest offer. It’s good not only for your pocketbook, but, more importantly, the environment, too. The coffee chain is now selling a reusable cup for just $1. Each time you use it at a corporate-owned café, you’ll receive 10 cents off your beverage. No, it’s not the greatest savings in the world. However, over time, the savings add up. (If you didn’t know, the chain has always offered the dime discount for anyone who brought in their own cup, mug or tumbler. This new promo just increases the awareness.) If you’re wondering about cleanliness, the cups will be cleaned with boiling water each time a customer uses it. The only drawback is that you have to remember to bring it with you for the whole money-saving, environmentally-friendly system to work. We still have trouble remember to bring our reusable bags to the grocery store, so good luck.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I bought one of the cups. It’s pretty neat. One thing to know is the coffee can be real hot in the plastic cup. Make sure you have a sleeve. And that’s another thing – since I need the sleeve I now kinda feel guilty sing the cardboard ones each time. So I’m considering buying a re-usable sleeve too.
I tend to hit up a SB a few times a week to work so it isn’t that tough to remember to bring my cup along. Though I can see for a more casual drinker it would be harder to remember.
Does Starbucks have specials or discounts on their beverages? It might make we want to participate if they did.
