Pull the kids off the sofa for a FREE activity. Home improvement retailer Lowe’s offers FREE projects for youngsters, usually every other weekend.  During the Build and Grow Clinics,  youngsters use kid-friendly tools, glue and other neat stuff.   All participants receive a FREE apron, goggles, a project-themed patch and certificate of merit if they finish the craft.

You do need to pre-register for these workshops because they fill quickly in some cities. Sign-up is easy — just select a clinic. Then, enter your zip code and select a store. Finally, enter your e-mail and attendee names. Lowe’s is one of a number of stores that offer free, hands-on craft workshops for kids.
