Books may not be the first thing on children’s minds when they deal with tragedy and upheaval, but they can be a comfort. Popular children’s book author Karma Wilson, who has written dozens of books, including best-selling Bear Snores On, is offering a gift to children affected by Hurricane Sandy. She will send one of her books, with a personal message, to any child whose family is dealing with storm issues, until she runs out of books to send. To tell her about a child, email karma@karmawilson.com with the subject line SANDY, in upper case. In the email, tell her the address, the name you want the book signed to, and any additional information. First come, first serve. She estimates she has about 100 books she can send. Please share this post with those who might know a child affected by Sandy.
