Del Taco has gone to the birds. In this case, the turkeys. They just launched Turkey Tacos, making them company the first Mexican fast-food chain to offer ground turkey as a protein option. Not only are the new tacos priced low at $1.29 each (served in a crunchy corn or warm flour tortilla with grated cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce and pico de gallo), they’re low in calories at just 150 per taco. The tacos feature lean, seasoned ground turkey that has 33% less fat than its beef counterpart. For those with a bigger appetite, but still watching their waistline, they’re also offering a Turkey Taco Meal for $5 — includes two tacos, pico de gallo salsa, chips and a drink. When paired with a diet drink, the meal has only 430 calories. Through Thursday, January 16, they’re offering a FREE Turkey Taco with any purchase — get your coupon here. Price and participation may vary.
